WILDERNESS AND REMOTE FIRST AID
is now taught in New York State.
Take classes in upstate New York State, central New York State, western New york State, the southern tier, anywhere in New York and avoid traveling. This 16 hour certification is widely accepted for hiking, camping, climbing, hunting, fishing, remote work locations, loggers, guides, canoeing, kayaking, rafting, ice climbing, and any other outdoor activities that place you and your group more than 2 hours from rescue.
If you are from a state other than New York, please check with your local American Red Cross and ask to find a location where this course is being offered. ARC National price: $110 p/p.

First Aid in Remote Areas, Work Sites, following Disasters:
When you are alone with a victim, and rescue is not available within one (1) hour, you are in a situation where the information and skills taught in this class could be very helpful. Preparation and training are always key in learning to balance risk and safety. Having skills to confidently deal with emergencies puts the whole trip experience into better perspective.
This course focuses on "hands-on" practice with lots of assessment, bandaging, splinting, and evacuating scenarios. We love to be outside, and pick locations where we can enjoy nature as we learn.
